Improving Skin
From this
to this (mask method) or this (eraser method)!
Everybody thinks that celebrities have no flaws with thweir skin or anything, but actually, when looking through celebrity pictures,
you find a lot of flaws! So, here's how to fix it. There are a few ways, so I'll show you two ways; one with a layer mask
and one without. They both start very much alike, so just follow these, hopefully, easy to read and follow steps. (This tutorial
is made in Adobe Photoshop 7.0, and should work in other programs, but the letters in the brackets are keyboard shortcuts! They
are different between programs and are just an outline. Small icons will be provided as well.) Oh, some pictures don't have my site name on them, but
ALL photos belong to me!
Step one: Open Adobe Photoshop and the picture you are using. I am using
this picture of
Miley Cyrus. It's large and very easy to edit, hence why I'm using it.
Step two: Duplicate the layer (CTRL + J).
Step three: Do the following the the duplicated image:
+ this / this
+ this / this
+ this / this
The first this is how to get the effect and the second one is the settings for the certain effect.
Method One: LAYER MASK METHOD
After following steps 1-3, proceed with the following instructions if you are using a layer mask.
Step four: Press the layer mask button at the bottom of your layer palette
Step five: Change your foreground colour to black (X) and the select the flood bucket tool (G)
and click the picture. It should change, and look like the original photo.
Step six: Select the brush tool (B)
and right click. A box should pop up with different size and type
brushes. Select a soft round brush with an appropriate size, like
this.
Step seven: Zoom in (CTRL+)/(Z)
and start brushing the skin, avoiding the complicated parts, like the eyes, nose and mouth.
here is an outline (purple).
of what you should brush. Make sure that you are brushing with white!!
Method One: ERASER METHOD
After following steps 1-3, proceed with the following instructions if you are using the eraser tool. Both results are just about identical,
but some versions of Photoshop do not have the layer mask, so here is the alternative.
Step four: Drag the layer with all the effects on it under the original layer in the layers palette.
Step five: Select the original layer (which whould now be on top).
Step six: Select the eraser tool (B)
and right click. A box should pop up with different size and type
brushes. Select a soft round eraser with an appropriate size, like
this.
Step seven: Zoom in (CTRL+)/(Z)
and start erasing the skin, avoiding the complicated parts, like the eyes, nose and mouth.
Here is an outline (purple).
of what you should erase. The result is almost identical to the layer mask method, but in case your prgram doesn't support layer
masks, this one is an alternative.
Hope this helped! Please give credit if this tutorial helped you in any way! Feel free to contact me if you need any help, or if
you would like to request another tutorial, by using a form, emailing me or even in the ask and answer. Thank you for using my tutorial!
